Starlit sky, the nighttime sounds of nature and crackle of a campfire-Bears Den offers a primitive camping experience only 100 yards from your car.
The campground is set along the nature trail in a primitive woods setting. The Appalachian Trail and fun rock scrambling for kids are only 200 yards away. It's perfect for a young person's first outdoor experience.
The campground has three fire rings, two picnic tables and two privies. One fire ring is surrounded by benches and is well suited for group activities. A stone pavilion has a picnic table and open fireplace. A bundle (or more, depending on group size) comes with your stay. Additional wood may be purchased for $5/bundle. The lodge offers free water from an outdoor spigot, showers for $3, and a telephone for emergencies.
It has the capacity for four individual campsites. Groups can fit up to 20 three-person tents.
Check In: Arrive as early as 2pm. Register at the lodge between 5-9:30 PM.
Check Out: Depart by 12 PM. Leave no trace.
The driveway gate is locked between 10 PM and 7 AM.
Pets are allowed if kept on leash.
No fires allowed outside the designated fire rings or pavilion fireplace.
We ask that you leave the campground as you found it or better.
