If private, quiet and cozy are what you're seeking, the cottage is the place to stay. It offers rustic simplicity-with a few modern conveniences. Lounge in the living room by fireplace or sit on the wooden deck and read a book in the middle of the forest. Get back to the basics by heating your water or cooking your dinner on a wood-burning stove.
The cottage is a 300 yard hike from the parking lot, but a world away. Think of it as a hiker's cottage. It is only .75 miles from the Appalachian Trail and Bears Den Rock Overlook. A cart is available for hauling gear, but it is recommended to pack light.
The 600 square foot house accommodates 8 comfortably. There is one bedroom with a double bed, an overhead loft with three single mattresses, two single bench seat beds, a sleeper loveseat, and two fold out cots. A large main room has sections for seating, dining, kitchen and reading. Out back, a wooden deck is large enough for a 2 man tent or many fold out chairs. It has electricity; is fully furnished; offers free firewood; has cook- and tableware, an outdoor privy, and outdoor water spigot.
Check In: Arrive as early as 2pm. Register at the lodge between 5-9:30 PM.
Check Out: Depart by 12 PM. Leave no trace.
The driveway gate is locked between 10 PM and 7 AM.
Pets are allowed.
Bring your own linens. There is at least one shower available at the main lodge.
No fires outside the cottage. Fires are permitted only in the stove and fireplace.
We ask that you leave the Cottage as you found it or better.
